EV Productions, Inc. is a recording studio and record label located in Evanston, Illinois just north of Chicago. We offer a comfortable and mellow environment to accomplish a wide variety of projects, including the music that we record, mix, and master for our own label and the labels we work with. From commercial voice-over to hip-hop, our network of professional engineers, producers, artists, and musicians will satisfy any client or budget.
| The studio represents six months of painstaking design and build-out. The nine-inch-thick studio walls are de-coupled from floors floating on rubber pucks to ensure sonic isolation, and each room is acoustically varied for maximum recording flexibility. | |
Live RoomThe Live Room is the largest in the studio, capable of accommodating an entire band or group. With approximately 30% of the walls acoustically treated, the room offers a pleasing, natural sound and the ability to shoot video with a permanently installed back-drop and blue screen.Isolation BoothPerfect for rap vocals, isolating an amp, or critical voice-over, the booth at EV Productions was carefully designed to allow views into the other rooms without sacrificing sound quality. |
Dead RoomApproximately 60% of the walls and ceiling are treated with high-quality absorbent sound tiles to create an acoustically dead room. Drums sound punchy and tight, and because the room adds no natural reverb, it is an ideal space for recording when processing and effects will be used.Control RoomThe Control Room is designed to comfortably accommodate seven or eight people on leather couches, and features a ‘producer’s desk’ with its own patch-bay. The room is heavily treated with absorption, diffusion, and baffles to achieve reference sound quality and highly translatable mixes. |
